Sri Madvirat Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Biography
SWAMI SRI VEERABRAHMENDRA
A Monograph on Pothuluru Veerabrahmendra Swamy
Many of his mystic songs run in Khanda and Trisra beat in the most alliterative mood towards the end of the line.
As regards the ragas - Mukhari, Anandabhairavi, Dhanyasi, Chakravaka, Saveri and Surati were chosen to suit the tender sentiment and philosphic thought expressed therein.
As for the figures - Upama, Rupaka, Rupakatisayokti and Vyatireka lakshana dominate most of the mystic songs
Dozens of illustrations could be given, but owing to pressure of space I do not venture to do so. Translation of some of Swami’s compositions are given in the appendix, for consultation by the readers under the sub-titles ‘the practice of Yoga, Swara oga, Raja yoga and the Eternal Bliss.’
For further details under this title, the concerned works of Vetaran scholar - musician B. Rajanikantarao, Kannekanti Rajamallachari and Medapati Venkata Reddy could conviently be consulted.
While concluding this chapter, I should only like to impress upon my readers that the Yoga system of Veerabrahmam requires to be understood with great insight. The linguistic and musical aspects also require an intensive study, since the Mahayogi’s musings are resplendent with rich experiences in Yoga and pleasant expressions in language and music composition.
The Mahayoga of Veerabrahmam comprises Mantra, Laya, Hatha, Swara and Raja yogas. The Rajayoga invariably includes Taraka, Sankhya and Arnanaska yogas.
