Sri Madvirat Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Biography
SWAMI SRI VEERABRAHMENDRA
A Monograph on Pothuluru Veerabrahmendra Swamy
The greatness of the Swami rests mainly on his powers of intuition and prognosis. The prophetic utterances embodied in his Kalajnanam have now become household words in this part of the country.
The impact of Veerabrahma's Kalajnanam has been found on good many Saints who, in their turn uttered Kalajnana maxims, based on their concepts.
One such celebrated saint - poet was Kaiwara Sri Narayana Yateendra, popularly known as Tatayya.
Kaiwara is a famous Piligrim centre in Chintamani Taluk of Kolar District, Karnataka where Veerabrahmam toured extensively during the course of his visits to other places.
Sadguru Sri Yoga Narayana Yateendra who was born in 1726 A.D; in Kaiwara must have been infuenced by Veerabrahma's sayings. In one of the poems of Narayana Yateendra, he made a mention of Viswakarma community. He praised them as Brahmins of Bhooloka from times immemorial and in the middle ages the community embraced many other communities, but finally succumbed to evil conditions (vide Brahmanandapuri Sataka of Narayanakavi P. 193).
This invariably reveals that Narayana Kavi of Kaiwara was also influenced by Veerabrahma’s preachings of Kalajnana. The Kalajnana and Nadabrahmananda Narayana Kavi Shatakam” written by kaiwara Sri Narayana Yateendra bear testimony that Veerabrahmam and Vamana exercised influence on Narayana Yateendra of Kaiwara.
While concluding this chapter on Veerabrahmam’s Kalajnana, I will be failing in my duty if I do not quote one important passage from “Kalajnana Vani” (knowledge of Time past, present and Future) published by Sri Veerabrahmendra Mission, Anandashram, Cuddapah District with English renderings by Dr. D. Anjaneyulu, a scholar and writer of repute.
“There is enough evidence for us to believe that Sri Veerabrahmendra Swami can be identified with Lord Sri Ranganatha of Srirangam who was an avatar of Sri Mahavishnu. It is also possible to venture the surmise that Sri Brahmam Garu, in turn, was born as Gandhi and the Sudarshana Chakra (wheel of Vishnu) he wielded in an earlier avatar, was transferred to Gandhi after being transformed into Raatna Chakra (or Spinning wheel).
