Sri Madvirat Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Biography
SWAMI SRI VEERABRAHMENDRA
A Monograph on Pothuluru Veerabrahmendra Swamy
Therefore, having taken into account independently the dates assigned to Veerabrahmam by K,L. Narayana and others and the date assigned to Vemana by C.P. Brown and V. R. Narla, I conclude that Veerabrahmam was born 44 years earlier than Vemana was born and entered samadli 17 years EARLIER THAN Vemana did.
Although there is a great deal of similarity in the life MISSION of these two great revolutionary Saint-poets, they might or might not have met each other. Simply because the latter in his writings, did not make a mention of the former, the similarity found in the paths followed by them cannot be ignored.
They were, in a sense, religious rebels and poets of the people. They were many light years ahead of their times. Their seeming Sivadvaitam was nothing but simple Advaita philosophy retold in the simplest spoken Telugu. In other words they were poineers of a new social era in the spoken language of the people of Rayalaseema, particularly the two districts of Cuddapah and Kurnool.
Before digging deep into these details of their life mission, let me place before my readers the political conditions and the resultant social disorder which swept a major part of Rayalaseema, the venue of the activity of the two saint heroes during the seventeenth century.
